Tree height/stem length measurement for slanted trees (2 different methods)

There are two different modes in Field-Map to measure slanted trees:

  • Slanted tree height measurement “Main Pole below Slant Tree Top” mode. When using this mode, after measuring the distance to the tree and top of the tree, the Field-Map operator must send its poleperson under the top of the tree and measure this point. There is no need to stand in perpendicular position to the tree bent direction.
  • Slanted tree height measurement “Inclination + Azimuth to Slant Tree Top” mode. When using this mode, the Field-Map operator must take measurements from a position perpendicular to the direction of the slant. With Field-Map the user can measure slanted trees and visualize them on the transect.
